Gypsy Caravan

This was another in my 3D art series. The project was to construct your dream home, and I realized that I don't really have one. My dream is to travel, not be rooted into any one place, so long as I have music, good food, and friends. I figured a traditional caravan look would summize that fairly well.

It looks best in the dark, as I used flickering LED tealamps to create a bonfire and a warm interior hearth. There is a chimney installed on the far side of the roof which makes this entire project an oversized, fully-functioning incense burner. I wasn't excited for this project at all, but after it started coming together I just flew through it. It was a lot of fun, and it really something awesome in person!

Paper mache base with flocked grassy area, marble/paperclay path. Cardboard base for the house with magnetic snaps for removeable ceiling (to turn off the 'fire place'. Baubles were collected from old jewelry my family gave to me. (For purposes such as these.) Painted entirely with acrylic paints.
